UCLA in LA/Dickson Dedication

October 25, 2001
Dickson Court

Seventy-five years ago on October 25, 1926, the governor and University of California officials joined hundreds of students in formally dedicating the new Westwood campus. Instrumental in establishing UCLA and moving it to Westwood was Edward A. Dickson. This year's event celebrated the dedication of Dickson Court. As part of the festivities the UCLA in LA initiative was highlighted by showcasing outreach programs and cultural offerings. The UCLA in LA initiative renews the university's commitment to nurture and develop partnerships between community groups and UCLA that produce joint efforts to improve the quality of life for area residents. Display booths and interactive exhibits were set up to showcase the various UCLA in LA programs.
