Glorya Kaufman Hall Inaugural Celebration

The newly renovated Glorya Kaufman Hall, featuring state-of-the-art facilities for dance, videography and cross-cultural investigation in the arts, opened in fall 2004 with a gala celebration in honor of its patron, Glorya Kaufman. The former Dance Building was transformed with an $18 million gift - the largest single donation to the dance art form in America , and at the time the largest gift to UCLA outside of the health sciences. A black tie dinner with dancing to the Johnny Crawford Vintage Dance Orchestra and featuring world-class tango performances highlighted the evening honoring Mrs. Kaufman.
